Ketogenic Kibbeh

So that’s my first recipe! I’m so excited to share with you guys all the good stuff we do. We are always experimenting to come up with more middle eastern ketogenic recipes.

Our main rule? The recipe should taste almost identical to the original recipe. For this reason, we will add a similarity meter to show you guys how similar the taste of this low carb version to it’s original alternative.

Similarity Meter: 98% – MUST TRY

We all love Kibbeh, that’s why we made it Keto-Friendly! You won’t even differentiate between this one and the original recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1kg of Minced Beef
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 30g of Pine Nuts
  • 2 Cups of Almond Flour
  • Salt to Taste
  • 3 Tablespoons of Kibbeh spices
  • Bunch of Basil – Minced
  • 3/4 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Ghee
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon of Seven Spices

Preparation:

For the Kibbeh Stuffing:

Chop the onion and add it to a medium size pan and fry them with the ghee on medium heat until golden. Add half of the minced beef, most of the pine nuts, all of the Seven Spices and salt and mix until cooked.

For the Kibbeh Dough:

Mix together the other half of the minced beef, salt, Kibbeh spices, minced basil and the Almond flour and mix together thoroughly until a well consistent dough forms.

Finally,

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius then bring a large pan and put half of the formed dough in the bottom, leaving no empty space. Add the minced beef mixture on top and then cover with another layer of dough. Get a knife and shape the top layer of the Kibbeh diagonally starting from two opposite sides of the pan to form diamond shapes all over the pan then cut the Kibbeh to form 9 almost identically sized servings.

Just before cooking, put the olive oil all over the Kibbeh and place the Kibbeh inside the oven for 45mins or until crispy and cooked.

It is normal to have it shrink a bit in size as it contains no Burghul like the usual Kibbeh.

Unlike the online found Ketogenic/Low Carb Kibbeh this has no Cauliflower in the meat mixture and will taste identical to the original recipe.

Have it with some chopped cabbage salad with Lemon, Oil, Minced Garlic and Salt, you won’t regret it!

Net Carbs: Only 4g per serving!

Bon Appetit!
